This week I was reminded by several people that we are so full of fear of failure we can spin in our lives in a place we don’t enjoy rather than doing our thing.
In the past week, I had four amazing experiences that I loved:
- I began as a business mentor for a local business. We had a great time dreaming about what is next, exploring the options and then came to three actions that once completed, will give us the answers for what happens next.
- I began a mentoring relationship with a teen who would like some support. She is a beautiful young woman that reminded me so much of myself. I am so excited about what I can learn from her.
- Someone new in my life that I love asked me to support them. I was very honoured.
- I did a speech at our local toastmasters about how life is such a rich tapestry that there was no way that I could have predicted the three events above or how my life events could provide me with a foundation for these conversations. I needed to learn many lessons to both participate and contribute to these conversations.
None of it would have been possible if I wasn’t doing me over the past few years….. 100% agree with the statement below:
“Do your thing. Do it every day. Do it ‘unapologetically’.
Don’t be discouraged by criticism. You probably already know what they’re going to say.
Pay no mind to the fear of failure. It’s far more valuable than success.
Take ownership, take chances and have fun.
And no matter what, don’t ever stop doing your thing.”
